A critical feature of modern economics is the growing number of companies that transact business through international channels. The Economics and International Business co-major at UGA provides opportunities for students to learn about these international business processes and economic institutions. Coursework topics include business environments, strategic management, international immersion, international finance, information technology, and foreign language. All students must satisfy an international immersion requirement such as a study abroad program, an internship in International Business, or additional foreign languages. Finance at UGA is consistently one of the largest majors on campus and the largest major in the Terry College of Business. The B.B.A. delivers an education on the theory and use of financial analysis, combining course work in financial management, investment analysis, financial institutions and markets, international finance, mergers and acquisitions, trading strategy, financial models, derivatives, and corporate finance. The major in Latin American and Caribbean Studies promotes scholarly scientific and humanistic inquiry on Latin America and the Caribbean in the broadest possible way aimed at fostering an in-depth understanding of the region and its peoples. There are three main objectives:

The Certificate in Business and Political German is an interdisciplinary program integrating the study of business and language that is aimed at students who want to combine an undergraduate degree in Business with extensive German language and business studies. The program is designed to enable students to acquire proficiency in German, competency in the interpretation of German culture and business affairs, and experience studying and working abroad in authentic academic and business settings.
The major offers a unique program of study designed to give students a broad understanding of the roles and functions of risk-bearing institutions including commercial property and liability insurance, employee benefits, insurer operations and policy, corporate risk management, life insurance, and economic risk management. To combat the cycle from distressed to blighted or vacant, urban leaders across the nation are working in new ways to create 21st century remedies.
To promote understanding of the problem of urban blight and increase awareness of some remedies that are already working, and some that are emerging, the Center for Technology in Government at the University at Albany, the Center for Urban Studies at the University at Buffalo, and the Rockefeller Institute of Government, all part of the State University of New York, co-hosted this forum.
